Sinéad Moriarty is a Dublin-born author known for her bestselling novels that have captured the hearts of readers across the globe. Raised in a literary environment, with her mother being a children’s book author, Sinéad’s love for storytelling began early on. She pursued her passion for languages at Trinity College Dublin, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in French and Spanish. After completing her studies, she moved to Paris and later London, where she worked as a journalist.
It was during her time in London that Sinéad began writing fiction. Juggling her journalistic career with creative writing, she started developing the ideas that would later shape her debut novel, The Baby Trail. Joining a creative writing group provided her with the support and feedback she needed, and her efforts paid off when Penguin Books published her first novel. The Baby Trail became an international success, translated into 25 languages, and launched Sinéad’s career as a celebrated author.
Over the years, she has written 14 novels, each one further establishing her as a popular fiction writer. Her works often explore family dynamics, motherhood, and personal challenges, resonating deeply with readers. Among her notable books are The Good Mother, Our Secrets and Lies, and The Way We Were, which won the Irish Independent Popular Fiction Book of the Year in 2015.
