Sum up the menopau“I had three years of hot flushes. I had broken sleep. I had migraines, headaches, dizziness, weight gain, UTIs and dry eyes. My energy levels were on the floor. (Not to mention loss of libido, vaginal dryness and a general loss of va va voom.) I felt as if my old self had disappeared. And I wanted the old me back.I was working outside the home in a senior role, but I didn’t dare tell my employer. Would they think I was too old? Past it? Unable to do my job?”My experience might be different to yours (there are over 40 symptoms of menopause, and I’ve only described a few!) but what many women have in common is a myriad of uncomfortable and embarrassing symptoms… no clear answers… and the prospect of spending a third of their lives managing their menopause.There are so many myths about the menopause that it’s difficult to navigate and hard to separate fact from fiction.I founded The Menopause Hub to give Irish women the opportunity to manage their menopause their way… a resource to understand the changes you are going through…and an option to keep living the life you love, at home and at work.I have had a lengthy and highly successful career working in Marketing and Communications with many multinational, global businesses, Mars Inc, Diageo plc, Kerry Group plc and Jacob Fruitfield. I was awarded Marketer of the Year. I am a graduate of UCD and DCU and have lectured in the UCD Smurfit Business School on their executive MBA and MSc Programme. I was also a member of the board of the Abbey Theatre and chaired their Gender Equality Committee in 2016.se in three words Loss of vitality!
