Helen Jonsen is an award-winning journalist, media executive, speaker, and communications strategist with a career spanning journalism, digital innovation, public service, and nonprofit advocacy. With a kaleidoscope career from newsrooms in New York to executive boardrooms, from startups to government agencies, she’s been a trusted advisor to CEOs, changemakers, and mission-driven organizations.
At the heart of her work is the power of storytelling. Helen began her career as a TV journalist in New York and went on to report and produce for local, national, and international media, including WNYW-Fox 5, WPIX 11, Forbes.com, Australia’s Ten and 9 networks, and others. She has interviewed too many bold-faced names to list, covering business and careers, as well as breaking news on two continents.

She was dubbed “our video guru” by Steve Forbes during her time leading Forbes’ pioneering video network and host of Forbes.com The Balancing Act and CEO Spotlight.
Helen also served in leadership roles at Working Mother Media, where she championed women’s advancement and created the popular “Most Powerful Moms” series. In recent years, she stepped into public service roles for Westchester County and New York City, during the critical years of the pandemic, justice reform, and economic equity.

A sought-after public speaker and moderator, Helen has appeared at the Harvard Club of New York, Forbes Women’s Summits, Working Mother conferences, other national and international conferences.

Helen is widely published and has also authored multiple books, including the Aussie Word Book series, and contributed to anthologies on women’s leadership and financial empowerment.

Helen is a passionate advocate for children’s health, paid leave, and community safety. She serves on the Board Development Committee for CureSearch for Children’s Cancer and Board of the Hudson Children’s Book Festival. Her professional memberships include SAG-AFTRA, the Writers Guild of America, and the Society of the Silurians.

A Leadership Westchester alum and Fordham University graduate, Helen lives in New York’s Hudson Valley with her Aussie husband. She’s a proud mom of four and continues to mentor and coach others to communicate with clarity, confidence, and purpose.
