Bina Venkataraman is director of global policy initiatives for the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard, a lecturer at MIT, and a fellow at New America. She was formerly senior advisor for climate change innovation in the Obama White House, and senior advisor to the co-chair of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology. Venkataraman was previously a journalist at The New York Times and The Boston Globe, covering science, the environment, and public health. She serves on the University President’s Leadership Council of Brown University and several nonprofit boards.
