Alicia Navarro

Serial entrepreneur & CEO, Skimlinks & FLOWN

About This Expert

Alicia Navarro became an entrepreneur at an early age, with several ventures under her belt before Skimlinks. She studied technology, earning the university medal for Computing Sciences at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. She worked for over 10 years with a series of telcos, media companies and startups, designing and launching mobile and internet-based applications in Australia and the UK.

She eventually launched Skimbit, a company offering social decision-making tools, in London in 2007. The following year, at the heart of the financial crisis, she pivoted Skimbit into Skimlinks, after users and investors showed interest in the automated affiliate marketing technology she’d developed to monetize her site. She now splits her time between London and San Francisco.

Since 2007, Alicia has grown the company to over 60 employees across offices in London, San Francisco and soon, Tokyo; has raised $10m in venture capital funding; and last year, drove annual retail sales of $500M.

Alicia’s vision for Skimlinks is to see online publishers rewarded for the role they play in informing purchase decisions, by removing the technical and administrative complexities that hamper would-be affiliates. This, she believes, will help evolve affiliate marketing into a mainstream ubiquitous revenue model.
